Deck the Halls with WHAT?!
Well my week is going to be very busy so I figured today would be a good day to blog and to with everyone a Merry Christmas. I am loving working a ten day stretch! NOT! I like having a break and not having to work weekends but I guess it is my turn considering that I have been trading my weekends with someone else for a while. Oh well... Thank goodness I get Christmas weekend off!!! Well, since I have a ton to do this is going to be a short post but I hope that everyone has Happy Holidays, eats way to much and is completely full of joy!

To dream the impossible dream...
So I like it when it snows because that means that it is warmer outside but I really hate driving in the snow. I really would love to get a 4 wheel drive car again or a truck would be even better. My dream vehicle is a Toyota Tacoma 4x4 extended cab charcoal color with black interior. Can you tell that my dreams of this truck have been well thought about... Someday it will be mine! Someday in the future when I can afford it.
Now that it is Christmas time I feel the need to be extra charitable but unfortunately my bank account says that I should be otherwise. I see people, work with people and know people who have less than I do and are not going to have Christmas the way that they should. Christmas isn't all about getting but it is about giving and you can't give if you don't have. I am kinda reminded of the Widow's Mite. She gave all she had. We should be like the Widow and give all that we have not just money but our time, love and whatever else. We shouldn't just do this at Christmas time but all the time. ... Merry Christmas and Happy New Year...

Monday, Monday!
Blah... It's Monday. The only thing exciting about today is that for FHE my ward is having a dinner and an auction. It is going to be great. Who could resist free dinner from Texas Roadhouse? The auction is to collect canned goods for the food pantry. Ya know it doesn't feel like it should be the Christmas season yet. But it is here yet again. One more year down and I am still just as confused about life as I was before. Well, that is enough of my random rambling, I had better get on with the rest of my boring day. TTFN!

Now that vacation is over...
Oh how sad is it when you have to come back from a vacation. I enjoyed the days that I had to rest my weary mind and body from work. It was good to get away and not have to worry about bills and work and everything because it was already taken care of. It was also good to see Jessica again as we do not see each other often enough. I had a good time hanging out with her and briefly with her sisters.
The wedding was beautiful. The Mesa Temple is amazingly beautiful... However, I was a little disheartened when I saw that there is not an Angel Moroni but I guess there are a lot of temples without him. I guess I take for granted the wonderful history and legacy that we have here in the Cache Valley area. We are so blessed as individuals and as a people in general. We are blessed with an amazing pioneer heritage and we should want to share that... Now that I am going off on a tangent, let me get back Arizona... It was fun to see the different style of landscaping but I think I prefer living somewhere where we have enough water to have green grass in our parks and yards.
It was also a blast to see Bryce Canyon, the Grand Canyon, and also Cove Fort (which is located between Kanosh and Beaver, Utah.) Cove Fort is an amazing little place that the Church built under the direction of Pres. Brigham Young. I think that if you have the chance to stop there and see the Fort, do so. (http://www.covefort.com/history.htm)
Well, I will have to post some pics of things but as for right now... Hasta La Vista, Baby!

Random Daily Blogging...
Tomorrow we are heading out to Arizona for Myles' and Melodie's Wedding. Oh how exciting this is... I am mostly excited because tomorrow is my 23 birthday! Yippee! I made it another year! Also because I am in desperate need of a long vacation away from work. Don't get me wrong I like my job and I enjoy it but sometimes ya just need a break. Well, I really have nothing inspiring or life changing to report or share but I felt like blogging today.
Today I found this shirt at the DI, which is a fabulous place sometimes, and I thought that it was great (even though it was not my size so I couldn't purchase it)... here is a picture:

These boots were made for walking...
The other day I was blessed to find the red boots that I have been looking for for about two years. I got a great deal and they made my day. I love my new red boots!!! I was so happy when I found them I was so tempted to shout for joy and do a happy dance in the store but I figured that I would look pretty stupid and crazy if I did that... So I waited 'till I got home! :)

$$$ Dollars Out of Dimes $$$
Today I decided that I need to take a look at all my finances and get a better grip on them. I do not like owing people money. Trying to squeeze dollars out of dimes the last few weeks has really made me rethink the way I spend money. I have decided that I have to put things into 3 different categories. Number one is "Want," two is "Need" and three is "Need Need." I need to get a better handle on the whole financially responsible and money smart aspect of life. So wish me luck...

My new amazing calling!!!
So a couple weeks ago I got a calling in my ward. It is pretty exciting and much needed for me to grow spiritually and get to know more people in my ward. I have been in my singles ward for over a year and still don't really know a lot of people. That is slowly changing however. So my calling is to be the Sacrament Meeting Program Coordinator... What a long title for a not very big calling. I get to type, print and pass out the bulletin every Sunday. It is kind of a challenge to see how everything is going to work together because I don't have the internet in my apartment and my printer doesn't work. Thank goodness that there is a library close by and that my parents are fairly close if all else fails. I am actually grateful for my calling. I really enjoy it and I get to use my schooling in some aspect of my life... even if it is a small aspect. I was so proud of how great yesterdays bulletin looked. It made my day. Yesterday was a good Sunday. I love feeling the Spirit and having happy feeling all day long. The Gospel is AMAZING!

A Thought from the Scriptures
I was reading today in Matthew 27 about Christ being judged by Pilate and verse 19 caught my eye...
"When he was set down on the judgment seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, Have thou nothing to do with that just man: for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him."
I thought that it was interesting that his wife had something to say about the judgement if Jesus even if he didn't really listen to her. I also can't help but wonder what her dream was about because this dream was important enough for her to say something. She even called Jesus "a just man." I also wonder how much did she understand about what was taking place. Or was it that she understood nothing?

Oh I love technology...
Ever have those days that you hate technology? Sometimes it just gives us more work and things to fill up our already precious time. Especially on those days that you really need it to work... and it doesn't, of course. Those are the days that I feel like throwing my phone, computer and anything else within reach out the window. Technological equipment FAILS over and over again and yet we still rely on it for everything!!! WHY?

The Lovely Bones!
I am so excited! I heard that they are making a movie based on the book "The Lovely Bones" by Alice Sebold. It is such a good book and I love it. I just hope that the book is done justice.
After being raped her freshman year of college and later telling her story in her first book entitled "Lucky." Ms. Sebold has overcome something that most of us don't want to even talk about let alone imagine.
The Lovely Bones is about a teenage girl that is raped and killed. The twist to the story is that she is the one telling the story from her heavenly home, so to speak, as she watches her friends and family cope and try to solve the mystery of her disappearance.
It is such a good book to shed some light on the psycho world that we live in and to remind us that we need to be aware of those around us. We may not always be able to trust the ones that we would like to, as sad as that may be. And often we trust those that we shouldn't a little too much.

A Glimps at My Poetic Genius
What You Do To Me
You use me and abuse me,
make me cry and scream,
ripped my world apart,
Now the seams are bursting
to my broken heart.

Family History! I am doing it!
Yesterday was a funny day... I was working on some family history stuff and my brothers were actually interested for a change. It was an amazing experience! Usually they just think that I am weird when I get excited for finding a random date or name for someone that could be our ancestor from the 1500's. Recently I have been blessed to find written histories for several close ancestors and found people on the Porter line dating back to Mid-1500's.

Giant Leap
Why do make mistakes over and over again? Is it because in some odd twisted way we let our mistakes define who we are? So much so that we can't let them go because we don't know what we will be without them?
I am reminded of something that someone told me once... "You have to take that step into the darkness and then the lights will come on." Often that step seems like a giant leap into space, in which we can get swallowed up the great unknown.
Are we willing to take that step and shed our off-color skin to become who we know we can? To become who we really desire to be?

Faith
So it is so good to go back to church. I love it. I love reading the bible dictionary. In reading about faith today, I gained a greater understanding about the gifts of God. Faith is a gift. My favorite thing about faith is that it is a principle of action. "True faith always moves its possessor to some kind of physical and mental action."

Confusing Emotions
What is true love? And how do we know when we find it? Some have said that love is fake. Some say that love is real and great. What are we to believe?

Death
I have heard dieing described as the easy part of life. Could it be true? Is it so easy to leave the world behind and move on to another place, another journey?

Little Miss Shrink
I should start charging people for my advise. It is funny the little things that people worry about and even the people that can't get out of the high school drama. What is the deal with making up lies about one another? What is the deal with letting your parents run your life when you are an adult? Why do we let others tell us what we can and can't do? We need to grow up and take responsibility for ourselves. Fix what you want fixed... change what you want changed... We can do it. Humans are capable of more than they want to believe.

Dirty Old Men
Come on people... What is the deal with trying to befriend women/girls that are half your age! I don't get it. I am not interested in getting to know men that are my dad's age. Gross!!! That is really disgusting. Look for women your own age!

Pick up the phone!
Last night my coworkers and I were talking at break and someone brought up the subject of excommunication. Now lets keep in mind that not all people are LDS (Mormon), like we in Utah think they are. So a couple of us answered their questions as best we could. Then my coworker says... Do they call Jesus and ask him what he thinks? At the time it was hilarious... we work the graveyard shift so almost anything is funny that late at night. As I thought about it more in a way we all have the opportunity to "call Jesus." Prayer is like a phone call... all it takes is to pick up the phone, so to speak.
Romantic Text Messager...
I thought that this comic was funny and very relevant to our day in age. We are a very "plugged in" society. We are constantly on the phone, listening to music, watching movies or whatever on our portable media devices. It made Racheal and I laugh... hope you like it, too. (Heathcliff January 5, 2009)

Almost Lover
This is one of my favorite songs. It is called Almost Lover by A Fine Frenzy. I absolutely love it. Sometimes I feel like I have had too many "almost" lovers so this song hits home to me.
It will take a minute to load and you will have to listen to an advertisement... sorry!

Random Thoughts
My life has been working out more and more. I love it when I feel like I am in the right place and doing the right thing. Recently I had to change my mind and plans about something that didn't just affect me but affected a friend as well. However, I am glad that I had this experience to help me grow and learn more about myself. I have been working a lot lately and I love that head work really does pay off in the long run. I love being busy and having something to do. When I have a day off I feel weird and feel a little lost. But my days off are nice because then I can get personal work done. I love feeling like I have accomplished something, it is the most amazing feeling that I have ever felt. So here's to accomplishment!
